My name is Kristi and I’m an Au Pair. Or at least, trying to be. I’m 22 years old in September and I’ve never done something like this. I’ve created Au Pair Companion as a place to keep a journal of my time spent as an Au Pair and to give other Au Pairs a reference for all things relating to watching children in a foreign country.

In this guide will include various activities to do with children of all ages, recipes to make for and include the children and how to deal with emotional situations that could come up while in another country away from your family and friends.

If you ever have a question, any information to add or what someone to talk to please email me directly at aupaircompanion@gmail.com. I am always free to speak with you or to help you with your dilemma.

Also, please email me your photos of your times as an Au Pair and write me a letter of your experience and I’ll post it in the Companion.

As a rule, I am basing all this information on what I have personally read, heard or experienced. Information taken from this site is to be used as informational only. Please refer to your local embassy or consulate for detailed Au Pair information. I am not associated with or owner of aupair-world.net in any way. Everything on this site is based on my experience with becoming/being an Au Pair in France and using the website aupair-world.net.

If you represent a company/idea/agency that I mention and would like me to update/change/remove your information that I have posted, please email me your legal documentation that shows you own and/or represent the information and I will immediately take the action required.

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience! I recently graduated college and while I’m waiting to go back to graduate school, I’m looking to do some meaningful (for me and others) work. I’ve been looking for jobs in Italy, particularly Au Pair jobs, but am a bit apprehensive. After reading your posts, I’m already more intrigued. I would love to hear about your experiences getting a visa and everything like that-it’s what worries me most.

    Thanks again!
    Julia
